Code of Conduct
The short version
- Treat everyone with kindness and respect, whoever they are and however much Go they know.
- Think about how your words land, and assume the best of others when you disagree.
- Harassment, and behaviour that is hurtful, threatening or disruptive, is not welcome anywhere we meet, in person or online.
- If something is wrong, tell an organiser. Anyone breaking this code may be asked to leave, and to stay away from future meet-ups.
In full
Belfast Gophers is for everyone interested in Go. We want every meet-up, our Slack channel and every other space we run to be friendly, welcoming and safe, whoever you are and however much Go you know.
We follow the Go Community Code of Conduct, which asks us to be friendly and patient, be welcoming, be considerate and respectful, be careful in the words you choose, and when you disagree, try to understand why. Harassment of any kind is not tolerated.
Reporting a problem
If anything at a meet-up or in our spaces makes you uncomfortable, or you see someone else being made uncomfortable, please tell one of the organisers, in person at the meet-up or by email at info@belfastgophers.com. Every report is taken seriously and kept confidential. We may ask anyone breaking the code of conduct to leave, and to stay away from future meet-ups.
