A Belfast-based community for anyone interested in the Go programming language

Belfast Gophers

Belfast Gophers, aka The Go Belfast User Group (GBUG), are a Belfast-based community for anyone interested in the Go programming language. Belfast Gophers held their first Meetup on Wednesday, 22 June, 2016, and since then the group has grown to over 500 members.

Belfast Gophers typically hold a Meetup once a month at a variety of venues across the city. All Meetups are free, and typically comprise a number of talks and socialising, with food and drink provided. We live-stream all Meetups via our YouTube channel, where you can also find an archive of previous recordings.

Membership of Belfast Gophers is managed via our Meetup page; everyone is welcome! We also have an active Twitter feed and our members are active in the #belfast, Gophers Slack (sign-up here).

Code of Conduct

Belfast Gophers operate under the Go Community Code of Conduct.

For any questions about Belfast Gophers, our Meetups, sponsoring one of our events, hosting one of our events, please get in touch with the organisers.

If you would like to give a talk at our group please fill in our talk proposal form and one of our organisers will be in touch to schedule your talk.

If you'd like a t-shirt with our logo, many have asked for this, we have a Redbubble store. We don't take any profit on any of the items you'll only be paying Redbubble's fees.

Belfast Gophers is a volunteer-run organisation that seeks to remain as friendly and welcoming as possible to everyone. Therefore membership of Belfast Gophers is 100% free and we do not charge for attending events. Not only that, but we provide food and drink at all of our events. We therefore rely on sponsorship to cover our costs. Thank you to our sponsors!
